Philadelphia, PA, February 16, 2017 – The Rock Brook Consulting Group (Rock Brook) is pleased to announce that Charles A. Rowland, PE, LEED AP has joined the firm as Senior Director of Mechanical Engineering Services. Mr. Rowland brings with him over thirty-eight years’ experience of mechanical systems design, and an expansive portfolio consisting of key projects that span multiple market sectors.
Mr. Rowland most recently joins Rock Brook from Jacobs Engineering, where he was responsible for over fifty engineers and designers for HVAC, process/plumbing, and related mechanical systems design, and was actively involved in projects from inception to completion as the department lead in their Philadelphia office. A recipient of a host of awards throughout his career, including the Joseph J. Jacobs Master Builder Award in 2012, his range of projects includes R&D laboratories, Mission Critical Data Centers, as well as corporate and commercial projects. In addition to his design experience, Mr. Rowland is an active contributor and leader in the industry, with numerous bylines in trade journals, and has lent his expertise to national forums and roundtable discussions on various engineering topics.

Mr. Rowland joins a growing staff of fifty at Rock Brook, who provide MEP/FP, IT, commissioning, and sustainable design services to a large list of clients in various markets. Mr. Rowland joins Rock Brook at a fitting time when the firm’s growth and expansion will benefit from his expertise, and he will be overseeing all mechanical engineering services from the firm’s offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Monroe Township, New Jersey,
Mr. Rowland obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Rutgers University in 1979, and is registered as a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Washington D.C., and Utah. He is certified by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), and is a longtime member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
